Privacy Policy
Short version: AutismScreen has no account, no cloud storage and no advertising. Your notes stay on your own device. This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking pixels.
1. Information we collect
AutismScreen is designed so that your family's privacy is the default. We collect only what you choose to enter:
- Child's name and age — used only to personalise the app. Stored on your device.
- Screening responses — your answers are stored on your device and are never uploaded to any server.
- Observation logs — any notes or observations you record are stored on your device.
- Mini game results — game observations and scores are stored on your device.
2. The free web check on this site
The ten-activity check at autismscreen.pages.dev runs entirely in your browser. It has no server component and no submission step. Your answers are kept in your browser's local storage so the page can restore them if you reload, and they are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- No cookies. We do not set cookies, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no session recording, no advertising IDs.
- Clear it yourself. Press Start again on the check to delete the stored answers. Clearing site data in your browser does the same thing.
Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider, which processes the usual request information (IP address, browser type, page requested) to serve the page and protect the service from abuse. We do not use it to identify visitors or to build profiles, and we do not combine it with anything you enter into the check.
3. How we use your information
Information you enter is used only to run the features you interact with:
- Personalising the experience with your child's name and age
- Calculating the results shown for your answers
- Tracking milestones and observations over time
- Generating the one-page summary you can export for your clinician
4. Data storage and security
Local storage only. Data is stored on your device using the app's local storage. We do not operate cloud servers, databases or user accounts. Your data leaves your device only when you choose to share it, for example by exporting a summary for your paediatrician.
No upload, no sale. We do not upload, transmit or sell your data. There are no tracking cookies, no remote AI servers and no third-party data collectors in the app.
5. Analytics and telemetry
AutismScreen runs locally. We do not record your answers or your child's development on any external server, and we do not send behavioural telemetry.
6. Third-party services
A small number of providers are involved in building and selling the app. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Expo — the development framework used to build the app. expo.dev/privacy
- Payment processing — the optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) or RevenueCat, each under its own privacy policy. Only payment-related data is shared with them. Your screening answers, observations and personal details are never shared.
- Website hosting — Cloudflare delivers these pages and handles standard request logs as described in section 2. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
7. Your rights
Because everything is stored on your own device, you keep full control:
- Clear all data by uninstalling the app, using the in-app reset, or clearing your browser's site data
- Export your results by taking screenshots or using the share and export options in the app
- No account to close and no deletion request to file, because we hold no copy of your data
If you are in the UK or EU, you still have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you. In practice that is none, apart from any email you send us.
8. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: support@autismscreen.co.uk
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes appear here with a new date at the top, and in the app with an updated date. Please review it occasionally.
10. Medical advice disclaimer
AutismScreen is built on published developmental milestone research, including Robins et al., Pediatrics 2014. However:
- Not a medical diagnosis. AutismScreen provides educational information and screening indicators only. It is not a clinical diagnostic instrument.
- Consult a professional. We are not medical professionals. Neither the screening tools, the observation logs, nor the generated reports constitute professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Always consult a qualified healthcare provider, such as a developmental paediatrician, child psychologist or child neurologist, about your child's development or any medical concern.
